Have you ever been so captured by a piece of literary work that you almost feel inoculated? Where every thought you have is held hostage and replaced by some form of mimicry? Some doppelganger of the mind? The Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer has been that piece of literary work for me for the last year and a half. This is my first attempt at expressing a collection of thoughts and emotions about Area X that I could not form into my own words. I'm only sending this across the border in hopes that you won't dislike these songs as much as I enjoyed my times inside the minds surrounding The Southern Reach. Thanks for the inspiration.
